Snow is here -a great Ski, Board or Sled Season to Enjoy
Winter in Fernie means one thing: world-class skiing and snowboarding at nearby Fernie Ski Resort. Fernie gets tons of fresh powder year each - almost 9 meter or 30 ft. The Ski hill is conveniently located within 5 minutes drive from Powder Mountain Lodge. The Resort has 10 lifts servicing 112 named runs plus 5 alpine bowls and tree skiing with a vertical drop of 1,082 meters (3,550 ft). The resort has over 10.1 square kilometres (2,500 acres) of skiable terrain. The ski resort is not too crowded and pretty good for fun day on the mountain. Fernie has a terrain park and an even spread of trails for all ability levels, and diehards have off-piste runs including the alpine bowls, steep glades and various slack-country options.
After your day on the mountain, you can return to Powder Mountain Lodge, Fernie to relax and rest. Our hot tub is always hot and rejuvating after a long day on the slopes. Locals and everyone in Fernie is excited about early snow this year, and hope that this season may be one of the best ski seasons. Color display of fall season is in full swing in the Elk valley. Views are breathtaking all around us. Just few blocks north of our lodge is the Elk river and there is a pathway which goes for hours in each direction. There are several parks nearby. The pathway along Elk river is such a fun and relaxing to walk along. Colorful trees and fallen leaves just adds to the beautiful display of nature and helps us unwind, de-stress and be happy. Life could be very hectic, but nature all around reminds us to get some time off and relax.
